Want to Help?

The Arc of Aurora receives no government funding for individual advocacy. We are supported by private donations and allocations from arc Thrift Stores. To support the work we do for individuals with IDD and their families, below lists 8 different ways you can support The Arc of Aurora and those we help RIGHT NOW!

#1. Make a cash donation

Consider giving a cash donation through Colorado Gives. Your donation will have a direct and immediate impact on those we help with IDD by ensuring that transformative individual advocacy continues, expands, and remains affordable.

#2. Make an in-kind donation

There are hundreds we support with IDD in our Aurora community that need the below items. Consider making an in-kind donation to The Arc of Aurora (call to arrange a drop-off) so we can provide these items to the children and adults with IDD and their families whom we support:

  • Unexpired, nonperishable food
  • Hand sanitizer and sanitizing wipes
  • Cleaning products
  • Disposable gloves
  • Toilet paper, paper towels, and Kleenex
  • Hygiene items such as soap, body wash, wipes, shampoo, etc.
  • Tylenol
  • Laundry detergent
  • Pet food (cat and dog)

#3. Volunteer

While we don’t offer court-mandated volunteer opportunities, we welcome individuals, groups and clubs, who are genuinely passionate about our cause to join our dedicated volunteer team.

#4. Catch us on social media

The Arc of Aurora posts pictures and videos on our social media to keep in touch and to provide you updates every day. Follow us on FacebookInstagram, and Twitter so you don’t miss a thing! It’s easy to show us your support without spending a penny.

#5. Check to see if your employer will double your donation

If you’re able to donate to The Arc of Aurora, find out if your company will match your donation to us.

#6. Host a Facebook Fundraiser

Have a Facebook account? Consider setting up a Facebook Fundraiser to raise money for The Arc of Aurora with support from your friends and family! The Arc of Aurora will receive a check from Facebook a few months after your fundraiser ends. Be sure to tell us that you held the fundraiser as we aren’t always notified.

#7: ReFUND Colorado Tax Program

A program called ReFUND CO enables taxpayers to donate any portion of their Colorado state income tax refund to eligible nonprofits. Consider donating a portion of your tax refund to The Arc of Aurora! Simply add The Arc of Aurora’s name, our registration number, #20023003597, and the amount you would like to donate to the new line on your tax return, “Donate to a Colorado Nonprofit Fund.” Learn more at www.refundwhatmatters.org/. The IRS does not release information on donors, so please let The Arc of Aurora know that you donated so we can thank you.

#8: Become a Member of The Arc of Aurora

What does it mean to be a Member of The Arc of Aurora? It means you’re a part of us. It means you’re part of something bigger that impacts people with disabilities. It means you’re a friend. It means you’re a supporter. It means you appreciate the work we do. It means you’re an ally. When you’re a Member, you help keep our doors open, create a partnership with the organization, and add your voice to those locally, statewide, and nationally who support people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). If you haven’t been a Member before, contact The Arc of Aurora at 720-213-1420 to request an application.
